Wishlist for next update of WP User Frontend (Main/Fork)

Hi Rajun,

Thanks for your input. Me, Tareq, and gpspake all monitor the forum for what users wish to have in frontend but don’t always respond as we try mostly to put our time to developing frontend and solving bugs.

Of course in my case my impetus is to add features for my clients but in the spirit of GPL I am happy to pass these on.

Anyway as to your list I will respond with a mixture of requests for clarification and what I was already considering.

01. Have ability to add meta keywords (restricted to 5 or 6 keywords) and post excerpt to be use as meta description.

Need clarification on what you mean by meta description.

02. Minimum and maximum words required to publish a post (say ..Min 500 words and Max 1000 Words)

I was already considering setting minimum and maximum characters for all text fields which is much more useful in most cases. I was going to combine this with a much more streamlined WPUF admin

03. Restriction in Title (Min 5 to max 120 character)

As above.

04. Comment notification to Author to moderate.

Not considering this but would be useful.

05. Comment moderation by Author from dashboard …. and then Admin or vice-versa.

As above.

05. Author can save the post as “drafts” or “publish”. And can delete only the “drafts”.

Can already save the post as “drafts” or “publish” in the development release. WordPress roles and capabilities as well as WPUF can be used to disallow allow deletes of posts. Would be easy to add an option to WPUF to restrict this to only drafts.

06. Edit option in posts have a nice button.

Can already be done by editing css for edit links.

07. Upload/Insert/Manage Image directly from post and remove the Add Media button from the above of editor menu.

Need clarification of what you mean by “directly from post”. Are you talking about adding a button to the editor buttons?

08. Uploaded feature image also shown on the top-right corner of the post (text area) to avoid same image upload again.

Not really sure what you mean by this. Showing the featured image in the editor window would require probably require the replacement of the whole editor by a custom editor

09. If there is no image uploaded/inserted, a default image for selected category set as featured image but not show in the post. (Only used to show thumbnail of the post in the home page or category page).

Not so hard to provide a default featured image but otherwise requires extensive modification of WordPress.

10. Live preview when posting or editing.

Already being considered in the next development release.

11. Option to add poll (may be integrated with other wp poll plugin).

Need clarification of what you mean by this.
