I noticed in another question like this that someone replied that you have to login to Word Press to post. How does that relate to WLW and is there a work around?
bump>
I did not have this problem until I updated to WP2.3.1. AFter that, I started getting the same error. I get the error with both Beta version and WLW Ver 2008.
I found this workaround that refers to this same error. But it does not work for me. I have a different version of PHP (4.3.11) through my hosting company. The statement that is supposed to be added to the xmlrpc.php as a workaround was already present in the file, so I tried REMing it out, and that did not work. I can still post, just not through WLW.
ANyone else have this problem and make it work?
I have the identical issue here. I sent my log file to Microsoft for analysis. The problem is being discussed in the WLW public support forum as well. Log entry starts with this:

This is just speculation…My host gives people the option to auto-install WordPress but they are woefully behind on version upgrades stuck at 2.2 with no plans to go higher. I installed the blog myself and I am up to the latest version. Given the recent serious issues with xmlrpc could the ISP have globally turned off access to said files somehow.
popwireless – have you had a look at your web server’s error logs? You might find something there.
Good idea. I checked my site’s error log. The ISP doesn’t allow access to server logs. Site logs show only errors for deleted files. Thanks for the suggestion.
