Has anyone on this forum installed wordpress on a Windows 7 Home Premium local desktop, using XAMPP. I am thinking after a week of doing everthing WordPress instructs, that it can't be done. If you have made such an installation, I would appreciate hearing from you. Otherwise I am going to assume that it just won't work.

Posted 3 months ago #For Me I use WAMP you can get it here http://www.wampserver.com/en/ all you need to do is install it on your PC.
After wwhich you copy your wordpress files to c:/wamp/www this is the default folder for your public site. -
I use EasyPHP on Win 7 Pro without any problems. See http://quirm.net/2011/05/05/installing-wordpress-locally-using-easyphp/ for tips on setting it up for Windows and WordPress.
