    Hello Mark,

Will the plugin work for games which you play online?

Well, the plugin let's you create rosters for any team you want. I you have a roster for a team in an online game, you can create it with the plugin for display on some website. But it isn't tied to the online game in any way.

For instance, if there is a physical location field, and that field can not be hidden, the script is more for a non virtual game environment.

Team Rosters does not have a physical field location. But it was certainly written with real teams and real players in mind. Maybe you can take a glance through the documentation and see if the fields there suit your needs.

    Thank you Mark,

I will install and then review the plugin for the use of virtual games.

    Hi Rondsy, Hi Mark,

I use this plugin on a next released of a Counter Strike and Battlefield 3 Team website.

I had to make some modification in the Labels (we don't make importance of height and weight but we are attentive to prefered MAP or weapon)

I also did the modification in the admin panel.

This modifications are not essential. You can easily change label in the admin panel and be attentive when filling the players profils.

Come back to post a ink when the site will be released.

This is really good news. Perhaps Mark would adapt this version as official. My apologies for not following up. Will be reviewing the plugin.

    Thank you Coyot34,

    Ron

    Hey Guys,
Yes, I believe the new flexibility in what fields to show/hide and in their labels will make Team Rosters 3.0 much more useful in a number of applications. That was the intent anyway. You can see on my dev site that I created an office roster with telephone numbers, etc.

This is the "official" release, and I don't believe any changes in the admin panel are essential, as Coyot34 suggests.

    Mark,

Which version 3.1? I checked the changelogs and did not see that upgrade added so suspect this to be in the new version.

    Hey Ron,
I was referring to version 3.0 which supports changing fields' visibility and labels. Guess I'm not sure what else you need based on Coyot34's comment.

    Hey Mark and Ron,

There was a misunderstood. As I said, the modifications was NOT Essential, and you can manage to do what you want without plugin modification.

You juste have to decide to use the "weight" input (for example) as "prefered weapon or map". And an option in the display settings of the plugin can make you show "map :" instead of "weight" in the table.

So no changes are needed in the admin. I did so just because I won't be alone using it and I want the input to be clearly named for other users. And also to show a flag instead of a country name.

Would have liked to see this plugin accommodate non-physical players by making the options for online games. There is not much coding to do this, but opens up new markets.

    Ron-
Sorry but not being an on-line gamer, I really don't understand what "accommodate non-physical players" or "making options for online games" means. Can you tell exactly what you cannot accomplish with the existing plugin or what enhancement would make it better for gamers.
    Thanks.

Thank you for your response. The teams in an online game are virtual characters which most often do not have physical height/weight. So the fields option would allow for this. Also most times there is no physical location that is relevant to Earth.

Have you looked at version 3.0.1? You can hide the fields you don't want displayed (ht and wt say) and relabel other fields. So maybe "Player" becomes "Droid" and "Home Town" becomes "Native Planet". It's pretty flexible.
    Best,
