   Folks,

   I have 60 categories with Parent and Child structure, if i convert all in tags, will it delete my Existing categories or their parent Child structure?

   Or will it just make Tags out of categories and leave category sttucture Intact.

   Then what does "Keep in mind that if you convert a category with child categories, the children become top-level orphans." means??

   Yes it will remove the categories.

   The default category still stays the same.

   the latter means that once all the top-level categories are gone, the child categories will become top-level.

   I tried the category to tag converter once and could not think of any practical reason for using it. I had also hoped it would leave the categories intact and create tags, but it doesn't do that. luckily I tried it on a dev site where it didn't matter.

   You may want to take a look at the Auto Tags plugin.
