  • Hi Frankzhang. Thanks for the note here, and sorry to hear you’re having problems. This is an odd issue. Are you saying that there are no sidebar options appearing on the backend, under Appearance -> Widgets? Or that no sidebar shows on the frontend? If the latter, this should be changeable via adjusting the template being used under Events -> Settings.

Let me know if I’m misunderstood here, though, and I’ll adjust my response to get you what you need. Thanks for your patience so far.

Have the same problem as frankshang, after activation only 5 available widgets are displayed on the backend. The sidebar options on the right are missing and the screen options and help buttons are disabled.

I have the same issue. The only difference is that I don’t use a lot of widgets so it’s only removing my twitter feed. When I deactivate the plug in, twitter works, as soon as I activate it, it’s gone again.

Guys, I notice the plugin version in the title of this thread is 2.0.10. Does this persist with 2.0.11 too? (I’m unable to recreate it in either, but knowing if it persists would help attempts to diagnose). Thanks!

I am having the same problem …. and I am using 2.0.11

Only just installed plugin today, and it is great … except for this! Hope it can be resolved as I would love to keep using it.

For info, I am using a slightly modified twentytwelve theme.

    Hi guys,

Please try deactivating all other plugins as there could be a conflict here. If that doesn’t work, please try reinstalling both our plugin and WordPress and make sure you are running WordPress 3.5.2

If that doesn’t resolve it please take a look to see if you have any javascript errors on the page and post the errors here.

    Thanks,
    Jonah

I have the same problem with the new upgrade where the widget sidebar options don’t drop down.
Is there any way to down-grade to the previous version of the plugin while keeping all event data?
The plugin had bad JS that broke the front page of our website too. (That is fixed now.)

    Running WordPress 3.5.1
    Events Calendar Plugin 2.0.11

    Thank you,

    Hi Karen,

Yes, you can obtain any of our previous versions here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar/developers/

    I hope that helps!

Is there a way to export the current events so I don’t lose them if I re-install the old version of the plugin?

    Hi Karen,

I would recommend doing a full backup, primarily of your database, before reverting to a previous version. That way, if anything goes wrong you can easily re-import the database backup and go back to things the way they were. That’s beyond what we can offer support on here though, so you’ll need to figure out how to back things up yourself. Good luck!

Thanks for the help, Jonah. The problem seemed to be a conflict with Google Analyticator as once that was deactivated the list of widget areas came back.

    Hi rosyb,

Glad to hear that! Let us know if you need help with anything else.
