Widget no longer works

    I’m guessing something happened with a recent update — but my Events List widget no longer works. It’s supposed to show 6 events in one of my footer sidebars. But on the home page, the only “event” it shows is a link to the home page and the current time (weird???) … and on the actual Events page, it only shows one event, which is the most recently added event (rather than the next event chronologically).

    Any ideas?

    Hi @elainevdw,

    Thanks for posting on the forums.

    I have tested it on my test site using latest version of The Events Calendar plugin and the “Events List” widget work fine without any issue.

    Which version of Events Calendar plugin are you using?

    Make sure you are using latest version of this plugin.

    The Event List widget have some widget options as displayed in this screenshot.

    Make sure you have configured the widget options correctly.

    You should set how many events you want to display in the widget by selecting respective number in the list box of “Show” option.

    If you select the checkbox of widget option “Show widget only if there are upcoming events:” then only upcoming events will be displayed in the widget and old events won’t be displayed.

    Are you facing this issue after updating the The Events Calendar plugin to the latest version?

    Apart from updating The Events Calendar plugin have you changed / updated / deleted anything on your site recently?

    Are all the events are displaying in the admin area of your site?

    Could you please share me your events page link if you can so that i can troubleshoot it?

    Hi Vinood!

    Ok, after poking around a bit and Googling some more, I discovered that I needed to update my theme overrides, as discussed in this thread: http://tri.be/support/forums/topic/events-list-widget-malfunction/

    I forgot I had theme overrides, that will be useful to keep in mind for future upgrades, haha.
