It's neither floor wax nor dessert topping, but My Widget may be a useful framework for someone trying to figure out how to write a WordPress widget.
Since it's a working widget as well, use it to display a welcome message or personal note on your sidebar.
Or use it for both. I'm easy...

Cool! However, I'm currently working on adding support for this into WeatherIcon v3. I can't get multiple widgets working for that and the main plugin's source is a uncommented in that area. While I pretty much get what's going on there via the code itself, it'd be nice if there was a simple "for dummies" version so I didn't have to think so dang hard.
Would you care to explain how to make a mutli-widget? :D
