Widget Holder Doesn't Retain Widgets

    Hi Everyone. I’m trying to put together a page for a 2011 child theme (that already works fine) to present three widget areas. As a start I’ve registered three widgets in the functions.php file and these appear in the ‘Appearance / Widget’ space and I can move widgets into these new widget holder areas BUT they don’t ‘save’. In other words when you reload the ‘Appearance / Widget’ page any widget I’ve moved to any of the new widget holders have magically disappeared. It’s very odd.

    Any suggestions?
