I have a new install of version 2.9.2 and am unable to edit widgets.

When I go into the widget editor the default WP widgets are not showing as active, Sidebar 1 is empty. I get the same result in IE8 or Google Chrome.

I tried deactivating all my plugins, and rolling back to the default theme. None of these changes worked to get the widget editor working.

    Any ideas?

While using the default theme, did you try moving all the widgets out of the active area to disable them, and then back to the active area again?

They are not showing up in the active area, assuming the heading “Sidebar 1” represents the active area.

    If I can’t see them, I can’t remove them. 🙁
