Widget editor in the dashboard has disappeared

    I haven’t blogged in about a year and decided to start again by first cleaning up my blog theme.

    I noticed that the widget editor has completely disappeared from the dashboard. I’ve deactivated ALL plugins and tried 6-10 different themes so far, but nothing changes.

    I’d like to remove the first box on the right sidebar, but can’t.

    I see a Widget control under Appearance, but none of the widgets are moveable. I can’t seem to add any, only delete. Very annoying!
