Widget dragging not working due to function missing (8 posts)

    Hello,
I just installed the Widget plugin and it's reporting an error:

    "Element.childrenWithClassName is not a function"

I know this used to be part of scriptaculous (or perhaps prototype?) but returning the function to javascript just creates more errors.

Perhaps someone can help me out? I've searched and searched and couldn't find a solution.

    Regards

I sadly don't have a solution, in fact, I'm experiencing exactly the same problem on my fresh installed 2.1 WP, I suppose they delivered the wrong scriptversions with this release or so. The errors (given by Firebug) are the following:

    Element.childrenWithClassName is not a function
    http://techdump.leftblank.nl/wp-includes/js/scriptaculous/dragdrop.js?ver=1.6.1
    Line 640

    and

    Element.childrenWithClassName is not a function
    http://techdump.leftblank.nl/wp-includes/js/scriptaculous/dragdrop.js?ver=1.6.1
    Line 234

Both these errors are in the 'dragdrop.js' file; I've tried older versions, back to 1.5 of scriptaculous, but none of them worked.
Hopefully someone knows how to fix this as it's pretty annoying, I want to enjoy the goodness of widgets as well!

I'm having the exact same problem, with the exact same error. Any solutions yet?

Please download the latest version of the Widgets plugin (just updated today - February 10, 2007)

    Version 1.2.1: http://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/widgets.zip

Try hard refreshing the widgets page (CTRL-F5 or CTRL-R or whatever it is).

What version of WordPress and what version of the plugin is listed in your plugins admin panel.

I'm using 2.1 and the latest version of the widgets that you said to download. I'm now getting a different error. Here is is below.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp_deregister_script() in /home/publiusp/public_html/feelingright/wp-content/plugins/widgets/widgets.php on line 204

    Any thoughts?
