   I can't get my widget to show up on the home page.....might there be code I am missing on the index page?

   What version of WordPress are you using? Where are you trying to add this widget - to the sidebar or the page content? A link to your site might also help.

   Please check your homepage widgets at admin panel and open your sidebar.php find and comment ishome() and than try again.
