   First off, I know that this topic was discussed before and a plugin was found.

   However, there is no compatibility listed for 2.7, let alone 2.6 variants. Any ideas if there is any sort of solution that will let one control which widgets go on which page?

   it works with 2.7

   i will update it to say so officially soon
