Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– reading http://wordpress.org/support/topic/279132?
– disabling Google Gears if you have that running/installed within Firefox?
the widgets work fine in the default theme and in accessibility mode. google gears is disabled for wordpress and i cleared the browser cache. so, the problem must reside in the pixel theme.
what do you suggest that i try next?
thanks in advance.
The problem to me did not seem to be the theme, but may be WP
Just installed WP 2.8.5 and the widget admin did not work. I looked at http://wordpress.org/support/topic/279132 and did as it said
deactivated all plugins
and did this suggestion too from that topic page:
3. Try adding this line to your wp-config.php file:
Increasing memory allocated to PHP
define(‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’, ’64M’);
then reactivated the plugins one at a time and the widget admin worked for the few plugins that I use.
I also tried increasing memory in htaccess file, but that gave me a 500 error so I restore the file to what it was.
