I'm curious. A friend who's a writer (not a blogger) just asked me frantically to help her, as one of her clients published something she'd written on the client's blog and needed it to be revised. Friend isn't familiar with WordPress, so asked for directions and showed me the email she'd received. It was the standard WP login syntax (i.e., http://www.domainname.com/wp-login) but friend said she was just bringing up friend's site.
I tried it, and the same thing happened to me. The URL reads ...wp-login, but the page that displays is the home page of the website.
I can't link to the actual site because friend doesn't want the client to know about me. (Long story.)
Two more things I'm noting about this site:
1. No matter what link you click on, the linked-to page loads but the URL doesn't change, even though the link is to a different page. This is the same result friend reported (we use different OS's & browser).
2. There's a register.com banner at the bottom of the site. Besides being jarringly ugly, is it possibly involved in this somehow?
I'm not getting paid for this but I really hate not knowing stuff, so wanted to understand what was at work here. Hope someone knows!
Thanks in advance,
