Why Would the_author_posts_link link the Author URL?

    Having a niggling problem with the_author_posts_link linking to the authors website rather than their author page (unless the website url is blank).

    Any ideas why?

    The author template works fine with the permalinks when visited manually.

    any ideas on this?

    the link for the admin will go to the admin’s author page but for the users it links to their website.

    Also on another note the_author_posts_link adds an extra at the end of the link.

    So it will render as:

    <a href="http://www.domain.com/author/admin" rel="nofollow">Admin</a></a>
