   There were a number of posts tagged as spam dealing with the issue of trackback spam.

   Now all those tags have been removed and I'm curious why.

   There used to be a lot of posts when you visit http://wordpress.org/tags/spam and I notice all of them are gone now.

   What happened?

   Maybe the OP's went back and deleted the tags? Or perhaps the tagging system uses the forum's search function.

   Hmmm. I'm not ordinarily into conspiracy theories.... but this thread gives my very fertile imagination - oh, ANY NUMBER of possible screwed-the-pooch-and-bought-the-farm scenarios....

   im guessing someone decided to clean house. And why not? Alot of those posts that were previously tagged as spam were merely people complaining ABOUT spam instead of providing solutions.

   I'll go out on a limb and suggest that if anyone is unable to locate a plethora of solutions for 'managing' spam on a WordPress blog they need a refresher course in Internet searching 101.
