  • What do you mean “get to your wp-config.php file”?

Well I don’t know about you but I have a wp-config.php file. For example to get to it I have to type into my URL http://www.examplesite.com/wp-config.php/.

All WordPress site use a wp-config.php file but it is never used directly in a web browser.

That’s how I normally get to my wp-config.php page. If you’re not meant to be getting there like I am, how do you get there?

Then you would appear to be in a group of just one.

By using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

If you are using something like FireFTP to access that file, you really should not do that since everything goes out and comes back in plain text.
