• Can anybody tell me why the MSN IM username field was removed from the profile page as of WordPress 2.0?

I feel this is a widely used messenger platform, possibly even more popular than Jabber/Google Talk which are included on the profile page.

    Thanks,
    Alex

  • I find it interesting that no one has replied to this. I wonder myself. Maybe no one knows the answer!

Although Google Talk is becoming more popular. Why do away with both MSN and ICQ?

Another weird thing is there’s no tag for Jabber, I understand it needs an anti-spam, but there’s inequality with the other messengers. Like I can display my AIM on the home page, but only Jabber in my author page.

Hope someone sees this and can answer soon!

I just looked through trac and can’t see anything about the removal of the MSN field in any tickets.

All I found out was, the MSN field was present in version 2.0, but was removed in version 2.0.1.

Can anybody shine some light on this?
