• Hello…

I have wordpress setup on one of my websites. This is a podcast site as well. I’m wondering why the feed under wp-rss2.php is different than the feed on my site’s theme on the bottom labeled “RSS” ??

Here are my two feed links…

    The one from the wp-rss2.php
    http://www.indiefeeder.com/wp-rss2.php

The one labeled “RSS 2.0” on the blog
    http://www.indiefeeder.com/?feed=rss2

Why are they not the same? How would I edit this other one that is not pointing to the file wp-rss2.php.

    Thanks,

    mike

  • i just looked at the two feeds…i cant locate any difference.
    bye, chris

The second one is a permanent feed URL that (hopefully) won’t change with future versions of WordPress. The first is the actual file that produces the feed and its name might change at some point. The recommended useage is the “?feed=rss2” style. You can edit your template to change the other to match.

My guess is that you’re looking at a cached version. They should be exactly the same as ?feed=rss is just a pretty URL for wp-rss2.php (wp-rss2.php is what creates the output for ?feed=rss).

    Hello,
    Thanks for the replies.

Both feeds are not the same. If you look carefully, you’ll see I have the proper tag for podcasting in iTunes on the wp-rss2.php feed link. The “RSS 2.0” link does not have this.

I’m not sure how to update this other feed link?
    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    mike

They both have the enclosure when I look at them.
