   The WordPress.com version includes the following options in the Discussion settings (Settings-Discussion):

   Subscribe To Comments - Show a 'subscribe to comments' option in the comment form

   Subscribe To Blog - Show a 'subscribe to blog' option in the comment form

   Strangely, these options are missing in the WordPress.org version.

   I found a plugin to display a "subscribe to comments" checkbox in my comment form ("Notify me of follow-up comments via email").

   However, I can't find a plugin to display a "subscribe to blog" checkbox ("Notify me of new posts via email").

   Why doesn't WP.org include these simple settings, and given that it does not, what plugin do I need to get a "subscribe to posts" checkbox?

   i'd also like this option. i've seen it on other blogs but don't know how to get it on there. any ideas?

   Is that something different than the rss feed options for posts and comments I see on most wordpress sites? I only ask because I have never used wordpress.com, and any time I want to subscribe to posts or comments on a blog I usually just hit the rss feed for posts or comments and add them to my favorites.

   [edit] Pay no mind. After re-reading, I guess you must mean e-mail subscription.

   I've been trying to track down a solution to this very problem. Does anyone have Mark Jaquith's ear? I figure he has the knowledge to add the rest of the "feed subscription" options to his plugin "Subscribe to Comments"

   It adds a section to subscribe to the blog posts wherever you configure it to appear. If you want to provide subscription to comments via a "checkbox [in] the comments area," try the plugin that westi recommended.

    @macmanx I don't see any option for putting the checkbox at the comments form.. Does it definitely do this?

    Subscribe to comments definitely does it... I use it

    if you are interested here's a tutorial all about styling your comments section:

    I point it out because #6 on their list talks about the plugin, and way down at the bottom of the tutorial, they give a little css too, for styling the subscribe to bit. I prefer nifty little icons over the checkboxes.....

    If you want to offer an option to "subscribe to new posts", use this plugin:
