   Hi There,

   I add a pdf file to my site via the media button in my admin. I make sure that the link is a complete url to the pdf. But when I save the page, the link gets converted to a post url, so when I click the link it opens a new page with the link on it which can then be download.

   How do I stop WordPress from opening the link on new page then having to click again to download.

   I want it to be a one click operation.

   The problem was that when you try and ad a pdf download from your static homepage is just does not work, read the solution here:
