Why does wordpress use FTP

    Hello,

    I’m actually wondering why wordpress uses FTP to upload images using the media uploader?

    On our server, we have blocked FTP, and for some reason wordpress media uploader doesn’t work. As soon as we enable FTP again, it works. But we don’t want FTP to be running.

    How can we use another way, of making the media upload working.. like using normal HTTP and PHP to upload the images?
