Why does WordPress strip links from image captions? WHY? (7 posts)

So I'm using Flickr images with Creative Commons licenses and I'm adding the links back to the image and original author... and then WordPress goes and strips those links. The hell?

Why do I have to resort to using a plugin or waste time hacking up the captions just so I can give these poor, poor photographers the credit they deserve? Does the WP community hate them THAT much?

Yeah, sorry :/ You COULD use singlequotes (or none) in them for now.

That's what I'm doing, bit of a pain but at least it works (as far as I can tell)

afaik, there is just this one plugin, that makes it kind-of possible to ad links into captions:

The plugin caused some issues so i had to drop it. I'm also trying to avoid the pitfall of installing too many plugins too, so whenever I can find a non-plugin solution, I roll with that instead.
