Every now ands then wordpress will put a '<div />' in the code, and it breaks my table layout, so then 2 of my columns get pushed to the bottom of my page.
Is there any way I can prevent WordPress from doing this?

Turn off the wysiwyg editor and go to:
admin -> Options -> Writing and uncheck box for:
"WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically"
