Why does my image not show in the image library or at its URL after upload? (1 post)

Can anyone tell me how they solved the problem of 404s upon uploading an image to the library?

I uploaded an image for a customer to http://www.custombuiltwindows.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/NAT-25062-11.jpg and no errors occurred as far as WordPress was able to report.

At least that's what WordPress is recording as the URL. It doesn't display a thumbnail, though, in the Media Library image list. Nor does the image load whenever I access that particular URL. Upon inspecting the directory via FileZilla, that image doesn't appear at all.

However, it DOES appear when I click on Edit Image in the Media Library screen! Even lets me rotate, crop and resize it!?

So, I uploaded the image directly via FileZilla, hoping it would rectify the missing image in WordPress. Nope. And accessing the URL above STILL doesn't load the file, despite the fact that the file truly exists in that directory as a result of uploading it directly.

I'm completely baffled as to how this is happening. My customer is on a shared (resold) hosting system where all the other sites don't have this problem. Just this ONE site. It began to occur right after I migrated it from a subdomain on a development site to its own site at its own domain.

How to fix it? Please help?

    Thanks.
