   I keep trying to add a horizontal menu to my header and when I add code sometimes it messes up my page's header. The image I use goes away. Then theres just black where the header should be. And to make it worse then the black header is wider than the rest of the body. Why is this happening??

   i fixed it by restoring my stylesheet but if anybody knows why this is happening i'd like to know

   It means you did something wrong while editing the stylesheet. Unless we can see what you did wrong, it is not possible to tell.

   Even the smallest wrong change in value can trigger a massive nuclear reaction (just kidding :P)
