Why does my Blog page open another menu?

    Hello guys,
    I am completely new in WP. My site is still almost empty, I just wanted to test it, how it works on server. But there is a problem.

    I have set “Blog” page as post page.
    When I click “Blog” page, and when it opens, it also opens list of all pages below my regular menu. It is the only page doing that, other pages are fine.

    My question is:
    I am wondering whether that page list could be avoided? Or is there any purpose of this list?
    And if it can’t be avoided, is there any way of at least reordering this list, so it would correspond with page order in the menu?

    Have you tried switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

    Hello esmi,

    I did consider it, but twenty ten theme does not provide the design I am looking for.

    That doesn’t matter for now. This is part of the basic troubleshooting process.

    Oh, I see.
    Twenty Ten works actually fine.

    So now you know it’s a theme issue. My guess is that there’s an issue in your theme’s index.php template file as that the file that the Blog page will use.

    Thanks for all the support esmi.
    I have deleted that page and created new one … and for some reason the problem disappeared. Hopefully it will be ok now.
