Why Does My Admin Keep Changing?

    Full disclosure, I’m brand-new at WordPress. I’m just trying to figure out how to put an image in the header.

    Well, it turns out I was using a theme that didn’t allow me to do it. ??

    With one them I get Appearance > Header.

    In another I get Appearance > Header Image and Color

    In the 1st theme I am only allowed to size it a certain image size.

    The 2nd one should just be called color because there’s no way to upload a header photo.

    Also this is really difficult to edit pages when there’s no access to the HTML, only cryptic PHP pages. Again, am I just choosing the wrong themes?

    So now I’m totally lost. How does one get started? These templates are determining how to build my site.

    Is there a way around this? I just want to add an image to a header at the size I want but I’m just going in circles. I’d look up something but don’t even know what at this point.

    If anybody can point me in a general direction on how to adapt I’d appreciate it.
