I have not broken any rules.

I just asked a simple question. Please tell me what I have done wrong.

Your last 2 topics were simply repeats of the topic you posted only 12 hours ago: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-do-i-make-a-gray-text-box-in-twenty-ten?replies=2

Duplicate topics are deleted as, and when, they are found.

Thank you Esmi, yes one was a bump, as no-one had answered for 22 hours (12 hours was my additional info) and as that failed to get a response too, I thought I must have put it in the wrong forum, so I put it in the How To forum.

It's been my experience that we only get replies if they are on Page 1, as people don't generally go searching for questions to respond to. Are we not allowed to bump posts that are a day old?

    thanks

Each moderator may have his/her own system but many will delete posts that have been bumped within 24 hours.

Do not bump posts. Bumping a post to "the top" does not help your topic get noticed. The volunteers who try to answer questions look for those without replies first. If you bump a post, then it disappears from the "No Replies" view. DO NOT BUMP.

Moderators will delete bumps they find. This is in order to help you get back into the No Replies listing, where you are more likely to get an answer.

OK thanks. It is a nice theory, but sadly not my experience.
