• I went to run the wp install and it’s not letting me. I get a “Error establishing a database connection”.
Now this leads me to believe I did something wrong when assigning usernames and passwords.

As I posted in another thread (need lots of help), I set up 30 directories and 30 usernames/passwords for my 30 bloggers. Then I went to enter open the wp-admin and install in each directory and am getting this error.

I did as instructed in the FAQ and went into phpmyadmin and attempted to change the password via the query as instructed. It says: “#1044 access denied.”

I guess I’m not sure what to do now. should I unassign all usernames, install, and then reassign them?

I am under something of a time crunch since this is a baseball blog and the season starts in a few weeks. please help!

  • With 30 installations to manage it’s going to become more of a headache after you get it installed. I think you’d probably be best suited using wpmu.

maybe you’re right. I just hope I’m not getting in over my head

Your database information is incorrect. Ensure the host is correct and the username/password are correct.

    Yes! Use WPMU!
