Ok.. so I’m new to Blogging and a bit rusty in the programming area. I got a them that I need to edit and upload and have noticed that Matt, Dougal and the rest of the gang keep popping up. How do I edit that area to remove them from my theme? I’d prefer to do it offline and then upload it (btw, uploading is step 2 of the problem… 😉 But @ least I’ve seen some info on the site addressing that issue.) Also, would it be better to edit the files in DreamweaverCS3 or Notepad?

  • notepad — and matt, dougal, et al, are in the default blogroll. edit to your hearts content via the admin area.

    PS: who’s Matt?

Use only plain text editor – like notepad. Or DW ONLY in code mode!

Those names are developers of WP.
You do NOT edit those in files, you log into your admin panel and you go to manage your blogrolls (or links, depending on your version).

No, you can NOT edit any content offline: all your content is in the database, you need to be logged in to make changes.

The only thing you can edit offline are the theme’s template files.
