• i know this will dredge up some old memories regarding “lazyest gallery” and permissions. even though i have read through what i think is a really good thread (hacked by user7.phpinclude.ru and .htaccess and chmod 777 and others) i think i may have a different problem or else i’m just really confused at this point. what i understand is that regardless of the chmod of the folder LG (lazyest gallery) is trying to write to, it can still run into issues due to php permissions. reading through the post it seems that this is the same issue for WP upload. funny thing is WP upload works just fine but if i turn caching on in LG the pictures no longer show up.

so up to now i have: checked WP upload, it works, folder is 755. changed LG folder to 777 still no go (changed back to 755).

this is all hosted through godaddy linux server. i asked about permissions and he started leading me down the chmod road. i told him i had already done that and gotten nowhere. he switched gears and started taking me into the properties for the WP database but then said “you change it somewhere here but i’m not sure where or how”.

I am hoping Macbrink you could shed some light on what you meant by

Our host has changed the permissions structure. WordPress and pluging are OK now on CHMOD 755.

  • ninetynine,
I have asked our host to solve the problems with permissions. After they have done that, I no longer had to set the folders to 777, but I could use 755.
If the WP upload works, LG should work too. Maybe you are experiencing a memory problem with chaching?
I have a php.ini file in the LG plugin directry with memory_limit=16Min it to solve a memory problem.
