• My whitespace theme is ready for public beta 1, take a look at it here and play a little with it.

I would love to get some feedback to finish it up asap, so go a head and download it and test it in every possible way!

  • Wonderful theme. In general it’s great looking. On the post pages I love how the comments sit on the right side of the page, not under the post.

Well done. Just a couple of things:

When viewed on 1280×1024 screen resolution, the content is pushed to the left half of the screen leaving over 50% of the real estate on the right side white. It’s a bit too much empty space for my taste. Then again, it is called “whitespace”

I’m also not thrilled about the red lines down the left side of the screen (indicating content). I didn’t think it was necessary. However, perhaps something more subtle (instead of red over grey, perhaps two shades of grey?) But just my opinion…

Thanks for the comments, ill take it up for consideration!

Actually I like the red lines (so sorry doubledubs) but I agree about the whitespace. On the other hand 99% of the visitors of my site have window width greater than 744px but only 58% greater than 968px and only 20% greater than 1096px! Turns out most people don’t have their browser maximised, which is confirmed by some research I have read.

    Thanks again!

Well i think whitespace is a matter of taste, I think its OK here, where the space is filled even more when comments are active for a post – then the actual pagewidth is about 960px, which should be OK for most users.

The indicator on the left, i think its a fun little feature, its active in the commentslist aswell, and blockquotes :0)

Pretty nice theme, even though I prefer full width, or at least wider themes (I’m on 1600×1200). 🙂

I have put the theme on my own website now: theundersigned.net
