White space between header and feature bar of twenty fourteen theme (5 posts)

    Hi,

    I am using the twenty fourteen template to make my site, and after a few days of putting stuff in it has suddenly inserted a row of white space between my header bar and the left menu and featured content section of the home page. It did it after I added a few more items to the header bar content, but I have not touched the CSS myself. Does anybody know how I can get rid of the space or how I caused it to get there .. ??

    Site address : http://www.mthp.com.au

    Many Thanks!!

  2. Not sure how that white space arrived on your site but upon inspecting the element, it looks like the following in the CSS file for 2014 is causing the issue.

    body,
    button,
    input,
    select,
    textarea {
    	color: #2b2b2b;
    	font-family: Lato, sans-serif;
    	font-size: 16px;
    	font-weight: 400;
    	line-height: 1.5;
    }

    You'll want to find that code within the 2014 Style.css file and change the line-height from 1.5 to 0.

    Also, you should have published this in the official TwentyFourteen forum http://wordpress.org/support/theme/twentyfourteen#postform

    Thanks so much, sorry did not realise that there was one, should I re-post it there or move it..? Also how do I find the twenty fourteen forum as I think I did look around and could not see one..

    Also, have changed this value to 0 with no success - do you think it could be a margin that I need to change, or a different line height.. ?

    Last time I mucked around with the CSS I had to uninstall and re-intstall WordPress to fix it, so hesitant to experiment lol..

    Many Thanks Again!

    PS. I have turned the problematic white space black at present, by selecting black as my page's background colour. However, I would really prefer it to be gone altogether..

    Thanks for the tip Jeff Chandler! That tweak eliminated the extra space on my site just fine.
