please help... I tried to add google analytics to my word press site, i followed the directions and added it to my pages then realized i needed to add it to my theme - when i hit update my screen went white and now i only have the same white screen at http://www.mysite.com/wp-admin and cannot log in. i tried to reseach it, but all of the solutions i have found for wsod state that you change the code, which i am glad to do, but i cannot access my wp site... does anyone know what i can do about this? Thank you in advance for your help.

You can upload a fresh (unedited, a.k.a. backup) copy of the files that you changed.

A fresh download and upload will help. MAke sure you backup all the important files before you do it. You may try ask your support team from your hosting provider for assistance.

Replace theme functions.php file if did not make much changes to file if you did make changes then you will have to open the file in editor and remove what you added and upload it back.

I did not understand unziped in notepad is it just one file or whole backup as you cannot unzip full backup in notepad

govpatel- thank you. I do not know how to get back into my wp site, the wsod is on my login page too. I did not make many changes, I know what to do to get rid of them if I could just get in!!! <me pulling my hair out> - I unzipped the file in note pad, i am not sure of how much was there so i saved the file with the sql2 extension as well. does that help?

Using ftp log in your server and rename the theme you were using in w-content/themes folder so the default theme opens.
