White List IPs I didn't put there? (4 posts)

Great plugin Keith, and great job maintaining and evolving it! I noticed today that my IP white list has a number of IP addresses that I didn't manually place there. Does the plugin do that automatically?

    Yes,

When an IP passes, I put it in the "good cache", not the white list.

When there is a successful login, I add the ip to the white list so that in the future the user can log in without being checked.

You can clear the "good cache" from time to time so that spammers who are not yet detected will go through the check again. You can clear the white list from time to time so that all users are checked again.

Thanks Keith. If I clear the "good cache" what happens to the IPs I put in their manually? Will those users then be blocked from logging in as they were before I put their IPs in there?

The good IP cache is automatic. The white list you do yourself.

Clear the cache on the history page. Edit the white list on the settings page.
