I have the headlines theme from Woo Themes and there is a white bar with an adsense advertisement below my footer.
I obviously want the footer to be the bottom of my page and so am wondering how I can get rid of this white bar?

could you give a link to your site? makes it easier to see the code and tell you exactly what you should do.
and I'm not seeing a white bar that isn't part of the adsense box.

The dark grey footer is supposed to be the bottom of the site and was up until recently. However now there is a white bar beneath the footer with and adsense ad, and I don't know how it got there.
There is no option on my theme to put an adsense ad there and I haven't done any custom coding.
How can I get rid of the white bar and adsense ad and make the footer the very bottom of my site?
there's adsense code all over that theme. the bit that you're referencing is likely in the footer.php file in your template.
I'd take a close look at the rest of your theme's code if this was able to be injected somehow. I've had it happen to a few of my sites on shared hosting when the server had been compromised.

Thank you for your reply, I will take a closer look at the coding to see if it slipped in.
I think it appeared there after I put a 'text' widget in the footer with some adsense code. The adsense didn't show up, and I deleted the text widget, however shortly after I did this, the adsense ad below the footer showed up.
