    Hi,
thanks for an awesome plugin that I've used happily for four (?) years.

My plug in directory says I have WordPress Download Monitor Version 3.3.6.2 installed. When I go to add Download Monitor 1.1.1 the downloader says I have it installed. !
When I go to Hostgator and look at my files, sure enough I have a folder name of "Download Monitor" and no folder for WordPress Download Monitor.

So.... which one am I using? And what is the error where?

    I'm a reasonably smart person who is NOT a coder. : ) website: http://www.sharinghousing.com.

BTW: Mike you convinced me five years ago in some post to go with WP.

    thanks

    Hi,

    3.3.x is the legacy version.

    1.1.x is the rewritten version.

FYI I started at 1.0 after rewriting the plugin because it doesn't have backwards compatibility. See http://mikejolley.com/2013/06/download-monitor-page-addon-legacy-importer-are-in-the-wild/

    Reading on your notes:

"If you want to update from a legacy version of Download Monitor, after installing the new version you’ll need to also install and run the Download Monitor Legacy Importer. This will handle migrating all of your data to the new format"

The problem is that I cannot download the new version while the old is still installed (either active or inactive)
I wonder if I should uninstall the old version first.

    Thanks!
