   Hi,
   I'm currently learning WordPress (amazing software - extremely impressed!) and have installed WordPress 2.7.1 on a 'test' domain.

   I'm also currently having a website developed and the developer has told me they have installed v2.7.1 on the site.

   The thing is.. the two 'dashboards' look different. On one of them the menus are along the top. The other one has the menus down the side?

   I've included screenshots below for you to look at:

   Dashboard 2

   Could someone tell me whether they are both the same version (it says they are but I'm wondering...) and, if they are, how to get the menus on the first screenshot to be horizontal across the top.

   By the way, there's no "admin menu" plugins running so there shouldn't be anything affecting them as far as I can see. The only difference is that the second Dashboard is registered with WordPress.com (i.e. I've entered my API key in order to run a stats plugin).

   Anyone clear this up for me?

   Two things, possibly. The one in the second screen-shot looks like it might be WordPress MU, and it looks to be suffering from a symptom similar to what is described here.

   Thanks for the reply.

   If you look at the top of the second screen-shot the menu runs horizontally across it and works fine. This isn't a plugin and I just assumed that this was how the admin section was. Until I saw my other installation after the developer had upgraded it and I noticed the difference....

   Could anything else cause it?
   Is the screenshot in the first version definitely 2.7.1? (just wondered if the developer might have pulled the wool over my eyes and put in 2.7 instead)...?

   It's ok... I've sorted it.

   I disable all my plugins and the problem went away. I then re-enabled them one by one and found it was Ronis Content Management System causing the difference in the menu's.
