Which free theme would be best for this kind of layout? (8 posts)

    Hi!
    I am building a new site, and I started using the Twentytwelve theme, it seemed to match my needs.

    However, it seems that this theme has some problems with the wrapper.

    I want a rather advanced background image for the wrapper, but this seems impossible to accomplish in Twentytwelve. I am fairly skilled in CSS but can't seem to get a background image in place, so my question is:

    Is there a better theme for this kind of layout (just made a quick mockup)

    How so? What happens when you do add a background image?

    Thanks for the reply, there are so many divs, what would be the best solution would be for a theme with the wrapper in one div so that I could control the wrapper size and just add the background image to that specific div.

    Why cant you just add it in the body element?

    a theme with the wrapper in one div so that I could control the wrapper size

    Why do this? are you trying to control the image size?

    I know that would be easy, but I cannot find the corret place in the code to place it as a background image for the body element.

    body {
       background: url("http://localhost/sample.jpg");
    }

    This would do it but there's already a built-in function for that.
    Dashboard -> Appearance -> Background

    Kindly, thanks for your time. But that is the background image for the whole page, not the content container.

    I'm sorry but looking at your screenshot I thought you were talking about the image with a mountain.

    Use #main or .wrapper
    you cans still control the size of the image with
    background-size: 40px 40px;
