   I have just installed the latest version of WordPress and as a new user I would appreciate it if someone could tell me if I can delete any of the uploaded installation files that contain security information such as the installation config file.

   Perhaps I didn't look hard enought in the instructions but for instance when I install vBulletin it tells me what files to delete before completing my installation (and forces me to do it) and I think this would be helpful.

   The main question therefore is "After installation can I delete the wp-config.php file (and any others) which have password and database information etc.

   wp-config.php : no

   wp-admin/install.php: yes
   wp-admin/upgrade.php: yes

   Can you give more info on what else can be done to prevent hacking?
