Must be brain dead at the moment. I’ve read everything, gone through all your setting in the Admin, but other than the Google Plus Author, Publisher sand Facebook Admin I haven’t found where to enter the Urls for my Twitter, Linkedin Ect.

Thanks for creating such an awesome plugin. It will certainly be worth its weight in gold, once I’ve gotten to know how to use it properly.\

    Cheers

Lol! Oh, sorry about that, I’ll have to document that bit a little more. 😉

Since each Post / Page can be written by different authors, the plugin looks to the author’s profile page for their social profile URLs. So, check your WP profile (under “Users” in wp-admin).

Sorry this reply took so long — I was camping in the woods for a few days. 😉

    Thanks,

    Oh,

I’m envious! Camping sound like a great break… hope you had a brilliant time.

I’ve been fighting deadlines so I haven’t had a chance to dive in to your plugin as much as I’d like.

My issue with the auto Author Profile hook up is that the Framework, I use Catalyst, which is in the midst of converging with Genesis, provides a Custom Author Page that I’ve redirected to my Google Plus Profile.

So there appears to be no way to connect the full array of my Social Profiles.

    Please Advise!

    Thx

    Shunyata

PS Perhaps you may want to consider a conditional branching option and a hand full of Custom Pields.

Check box: Use Author Profile Social Links
    OR
Use Social Profile Links entered in corresponding Setup Fields

    Sri,

In the WP admin section, do you have access to the “Users” menu item? When editing a user’s profile, you should see the following fields:

    Facebook URL
    Google+ URL
    Twitter @username

These are added by NGFB, and are used in the meta tags.

    Great!

Thanks Jean for your prompt reply. I do have access and will give it a go as soon as time permits. I can’t really implement it until I get these deadlines off my back.

Mainly because I’ll need to do some Custom Styling. I really appreciate how easy you’ve made adding Custom CSS.

Good move on the update as well, you’ve added some much needed prompting to get us all to upgrade.

I will certainly go for the upgrade once I can get my head around the Twitter Cards and such.

Do you know of any in depth tutorials?

    Cheers

    Hi Jean,

I just now have come back around with some time to set your your plugin.

The thing is that on my User Profile Page/Contact Info I do have a place for:

    Facebook
Google+ (I Assume this is for my profile)
Google+ Url (Is this for a Page)
    Jabber/Google Talk
    Twitter@username
    YahooIM

BUT I don’t have any Url entry fields for Linkedin or any of the other Social Sites.

I would like to upgrade and will have several more questions but would like to get a handle on this first.

    Thanks
    Shunyata

NGFB Open Graph+ adds three fields to the user profile:

    Facebook URL
    Google+ URL
    Twitter @username

These are used by NGFB Open Graph+ in the header meta tags and share buttons to provide authorship information for the Post/Page.

The other Google+ user field must be added by another plugin – All In One SEO maybe?

There are a lot of plugins available to add/remove user profile fields. If you need more, or want to remove some, have a look at those plugins.

    Thanks Jean,

I do realise the functionality or NGFB Open Graph is mainly tied into Facebook, Google+
    and Twitter.

I really like the Custom CSS styling options that you provide.

It would be brilliant if there was a place to enter the Urls for the other Social Sites that you support. And even for Youtube which you don’t currently have listed.

    Cheers

I will probably add it in the next version. For now, you could put the following to your wp-config.php file:

    define( 'NGFB_CONTACT_FIELDS', 'facebook:Facebook URL,gplus:Google+ URL,twitter:Twitter @username,youtube:YouTube URL,linkedin:LinkedIn URL' );

    js.

    Thanks Jean,

I’ll go ahead and do as you’ve advised.

I can already see that I’ll have quite a few more question to throw at you before getting to fully know my way around NGFB Open Graph.

Yet, it is much easier to explain things with Screen Shots, do you have a dedicated support forum set up for the Pro Version?

    Cheers

    Plugin Author JS Morisset

    (@jsmoriss)

There is no support forum for the Pro version, but if you read the FAQ and Other Notes, you’ll find a wealth of information. For example, the NGFB_CONTACT_FIELDS setting above is documented in the Other Notes. 😉

    Hi Jean,

I still haven’t added the code to my wp-config.php yet. Thought it would be wise to check with the Framework Developer first.

I’ve really appreciated your level of support and the tremendous amount of work that you’ve put in to make this very timely and important piece of coding.

So I went ahead and updated to Pro!

I do hope that you can find some time to do a couple more of those videos! The one you did on the general Settings was very helpful.

Would also hope that in one of your upcoming updates that you’ll give us a field to enter the associated Urls for the main Social Account you have listed and Youtube.

    Thanks

I’m working on new “Contact Methods” options that will be included on the Advanced settings page. Watch for it in the next release (probably this week-end).
