Where To Host? (7 posts)

I have been at Yahoo Hosting for about a year. No real problems. I ran b2evolution on it. I became disenchanted with b2evolution and moved to Word Press recently, as Yahoo provides it. I am loving Word Press like no other, but now I am hating Yahoo. There is zero support. Not for phone calls. Not for emails. I had an outage for over 12 hours and not one person could assure me it was getting fixed or knew what I was talking about. Not only that, but Yahoo has been really SLOW for me. I am thinking about ditching Yahoo and going elsewhere. (but keeping Word Press)

Where can you all recommend hosting Word Press & website? I see something called Blue Host that looks reasonable. I am willing to pay up to $18 a month. (but would prefer less)

    Thank you for any insight.

There is a list of recommended hosting companies here http://wordpress.org/hosting/

I use 1and1.com and Powweb with little to no problems

Thank you! Yes, I saw the recommended hosts, but it includes Yahoo, which hasn't worked out very well, so I thought I would ask the users their thoughts. :-)

@VaamYob, "Don't hate me because I'm beautiful" Haha.

I did make a point to link to the official wordpress recomended page first. I'm just surprised someone didn't beat me to it. I'm sure others will follow. BTW - who's your host?

P.S. I plan to explore your various plugins. They look interesting. - guess who I'm promoting now :D

archshrk: fair enough :) I'm running a xen VPS. A happy middle between a plain hosting plan and a full dedicated server.

bloggingmama: 1and1 has a pretty good dedicated server support history with me, but I've heard bad things about their regular hosting plans. I have a hosting plan with them, but have never needed to call their hosting support.

powweb - I am an affiliate of theirs, so I have to say good things about them like, "All the customers that I've sent over there are very happy."

Take the above for what it's worth, about 100 bytes.
