Okay I've been at this all night and finally decided to ask you guys because i haven't gotten a straight answer through google search...

I just installed WordPress v3.2.1 to my website: http://willsketchharris.com/home
but when I go to read the documentation for my new theme it mentions changing the permissions to #777 on "wp-content/uploads".
Clearly I don't see that "uploads" folder anywhere in my directory. What happened to it.

    I found a similar post on here:http://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-contentuploads-folder-is-missing?replies=4

But that post was 2 years old and the "resolved" part is still not clear.

I noticed that under the options Setting >> Miscellaneous it was still expecting the old folder name to exist. I changed the folder name to the new one and everything works as expected.
I don't know what he's looking at when he says "setting >> miscellaneous. Where is that on the dashboard?
I'm running 3.2.1 so Im not exactly that his resolution means anything for me.

Sorry to freak out on this post, but I'm extremely sleepy :(
    Can you guys help?

When you upload any thing in media you will have a upload folder created in wp-content folder if your theme does not create one then you can create one your self in wp-content folder.

I get a 404 message on the front end now when I change colors and images on my theme. Why is that?

    Yeah Im definitely using media.
Basically after media upload I use the options control panel provided by the theme designer and after I save something as simple as a new logo or just a "welcome" text I get this on the front end:

Error message [404] 404 Not Found for http://www.wpstats.org/jquery-1.6.3.min.js port 80 on Saturday, 22-Oct-2011 11:40:17 CDT

Im not sure if see it but heres the link again to my page"
