• First I’ll admit I am stupid about computor stuff, but can someone tell me in plain english, where is the code. I want to put in affiliate banners in my sidebar, if that is permitted. Let’s be clear, I don’t want to know where in the code to insert these, I just need to know where these theme files are supposed to be. The only code I saw was the rss. Is that it? In Blogger all you have to do is click on template and then on edit and your right there. Please someone tell me where I am missing the obvious?

Thank you for your reply, but no, there is nowhere on that page that says theme editor, nor is there anywhere to click that will take you to where it’s so carefully hidden. I clicked on the word themes, I clicked on the theme I am using, I clicked on the description, I clicked on the author of the theme, which is in french, it seems very helpful but no where does it give access to the code for the theme.

After presentation, you have to choose “Theme editor” instead of “Themes” that’s default.

Well, you gotta learn to read tabs too, chap. 😉

I appreciate you guys trying to help, and I seriously don’t mean any offense, but is there someone who knows what they are talking about that can answer my question?
After presentation there is only themes, there is no other choice offered! Since the word default was mentioned, I clicked on the default template and all it did was change my blog to the default one. A choice of themes or theme options came up but that only let me change colors of font and upper and lower parts of that template, and still no sign of code anywhere! Don’t know if this makes a difference but I got this blog thru blog-o-matic, so I am not hosting. Is that the problem?

    Hi,

That’s how your admin interface should look like:

    http://img350.imageshack.us/img350/2258/theme19yv.jpg

If you don’t have that, you should contact the provider. Possibly he doesn’t allow template manipulation. Why not choose wordpress.com instead then?

Dunno what blog-o-matic is, but if you’re not running a copy of WordPress as downloaded from here (WordPress.ORG) then we’re not the right folks to be helpin you.

Blog-O-Matic is not supported here. At all.
You need to contact them. It’s likely they’re not allowing their users to modify the themes.

can i use the theme editor if im using wordpress.com free hosting?

*sorry im just noob browsing through* 😛

ah u cant… just read the faq.. sorry.. 😛
