   Hi All,
   I'm almost a newbie, perhaps post-newbie.

   I need to locate the "wp-posts" file and copy it. But, I cannot locate said file.

   Where is this file normally located?

   Content is stored in your database, not in the files. Table: wp_posts

   You can export posts from the dashboard and you can back up all of your site content from the database.
