    Hi, I am struggling. I have just about enough knowledge to drown myself, frustrating. I am trying to determine how the non post pages get displayed i.e. if i have a page called "About" that describes the site and owner how does this content get displayed. If I search help or try and follow the code I find loads about displaying posts, I am becoming an expert on this, but can't find how the remainder is rendered.

    a static page (assuming that 'about' is a static page) is generated by page.php of the theme (or is this is not present, by index.php)

    to help you out a bit... pages are posts! Confusing?

    Pages are intended to be standalone documents, but within the code, pages are a type of post

    So don't be confused if you see some code referencing posts when it comes to rendering page content

    for instance, you could be running a query to get a page using

    'post_type' => 'page'
