I feel like such a noob.
I know where all the files are, the backend files, etc..

my confusion is simple, i have a custom theme, and the homepage is completely coded (and is blank inside the wordpress admin).

    I need to edit it.

where can i find the html to edit? i see the html when i “view source”, but i just can’t find it in the theme files anywhere.

    help!

  • If this is a static page, have you tried looking in Pages -> All Pages -> Home?

    Yes. it’s completely blank.

It must be serverside, but i don’t know where it would be. and searching through each .php file has been fruitless so far.

    thanks.

i found it… it was there, very strange, i looked for it in the ftp, and it’s not there, but it is there in the “editor” php file (front-page.php – in this case).

why would it be missing from the ftp, but present inside the WP admin?

If it’s present in Appearance -> Editor, then it’s also available via FTP in the theme’s folder.
